Saw for sale as seen in photos Year 1837 approx Brass spine Victorian-era marks (crown, cast steel), made by F. Brittain of Sheffield, a historical toolmaker from England. Sheffield was known as the center of high-quality steel tool production, especially during the 19th and early 20th centuries. These high quality tools were used in Ireland by trademen F. Brittain” or “Brittain Sheffield” might be engraved on the brass spine or the steel blade.
