Rare Bakelite Telephone 1950s GPO P&T WORKING!

A very old vintage Bakelite Telephone dating from the 1950s in great working order, dialling out to make calls as long as your network supports the old pulse dialling telephones. Modern exchanges on tone dialling will not always allow you to dial out but everything else works as normal. This telephone has the very rare “Bell On / Bell Off” facility and us in the rare ivory colour. The bell on / bell off buttons work perfectly silencing the bell if required, useful if you have young children sleeping or you are working and do not want the bells ringing. Ringing with the nostalgic bring, bring sound. Comes with original plaited handset wire and a long modern line cable, Just plug it in! The telephone also has the pull out tray for keeping important numbers safe. Lovely chrome dial with an interesting dial label!! This telephone is a collectors telephone a real gem in great working condition. Speaking and listening works fine, not like the modern digital phones of today but this is a great working telephone for everyday use, a real survivor from the 1950s. Dated 1955on the base, handset and chassis so all the parts of this telephone have lived their life together. The same model telephone features in many classic tv and film locations. This telephone really has it all including a connection to the BBC!! Original fabric plaited handset wire and a nice shine all around which could be polished more, I have left the telephone in as found condition so as not to detract from its originality. Sitting on four rubber feet so as not to spoil ones polished furniture. A great working talking piece in any room and a wonderful display item, just plug in and away you go.
