Base was used with our other Triofix seat prior to this one. This seat itself was lightly used, is in great condition and has never been in an accident. We found it to be the best fit for our car when other car seats just didn't work rear-facing with the space we had. The design is sleek enough that it fitted well with two other car seats in the back. [As our car's back seats are flat rather than tilted we found in rear-facing mode the upright position had sufficient recline.
