Shou sugi ban is the ancient Japanese art of buring / charring timber Cladding min 3- 5 mm thickness to preserve the wood in extreme temperatures. The process involves burning the wood & then brushing the surface. Then, the wood is hot linseed oiled with Pinotex paint , giving you maintenance-free material that is beautiful for cladding homes / garden rooms/ sauna & fencing, etc . ( Weatherproof boards ) This traditional treatment of the wood preserves the timber for up to 4500 years & prevents pests , it's a natural fire resistance due to its charring .
