1981 VW Transporter T25 campervan

1981 Volkswagen Transporter T25 (T3) campervan. Taxed (Vintage) to Feb 2026. CVRT exempt due to age. Bought in 2011 with roughly 58K miles on the clock. The clock currently reflects 7600 miles as it has rolled over. The original engine was 1.6 diesel, replaced with 1.9 diesel in 2012. Water cooled. Original transmission (4-speed), replaced with 5-speed (2013) to which we have had extensive work done (repaired 2017, then reconditioned 2021). Respray in 2015. Exhaust pipes and silencer replaced a few years ago. Extensive body work carried out during 2024 on the drivers side, wheel arches, undercarriage, side body. Some body work needed on passenger side (see photo). Campingaz hob/grill and sink. Basic 12v leisure battery system charged by alternator only, no hookup. Sink pump working via foot button as in pictures. Original interior lights are non-functioning, 2x reading lights over bed work. There are holes in the upholstery of the driver and passenger seat (see photos). Please note the awning shown in the photos is NOT included. In February our mechanic diagnosed a knocking noise that has been traced to the transmission. This could point to the need for a repair or a full replacement. Unfortunately we have no more specifics other than that, but we have been warned that it could go at any time so have not driven it since. The van had a service less than 1000 km ago and we have been starting it regularly to keep it turned over. The price reflects the value of the van which includes works carried out up to this point and takes into account the transmission issue. Ideally this would go to someone with the time, space, interest and ability to take it on and keep it on the road. Please no absurdly low offers.
