This car comes with the updated 1.6L "MDE" diesel engine which is both more powerful and more reliable than the old 1.7L & 2.0L CDTI engines which were found in the earlier Astra's. Timing chain model, not timing belt! This engine is known to be one of the most economical on the market, especially when paired with the long ratio 6 speed manual gearbox. Both the engine and gearbox are 100%. The car has no warning lights on the dash and shows no fault codes on the OBD diagnostic scanner. Really nice looking car, it recently had the upgraded Astra VXR alloy wheels and roof spoiler installed worth €800 alone!
