Cannot praise Al Hayes and his team enough. From the minute I arrived on Saturday I was greeted with such professionalism & kindness and I left feeling confident that my needs had been listened to. They spent so much time with me from test drive to explaining all new info I needed with the car. I won’t shop anywhere else going forward

Massive place. Went there to test drive an electric car. Had to wait a bit but given the time of the year and pandemic situation it is forgivable. At the time they had better finance deal going on of 1.9%. Staff were very approachable. The sales staff I dealt with showed me the car explained the main features and then offered me a test drive car. So overall my experience was pleasant.

Went to trade my car in like I always have. But this time no calls back .
Very poor service. Even test drove my prospective new car and still no follow up . Same happened to my wife. We won't be going back. Such a shame.

Took my car to Al Hayes VW due to an intermittent EPC fault flashing on the dash. A scan showed a faulty oil temperature sensor & also the rear door speaker needed replacing.
When the parts finally arrived  5 days later, I got to my appointment at 2pm & decided to wait for my car. The sensor replacement should not have taken more than an hour & the speaker around the same for a total of 2 hours - and that's being generous. The car came back to me 4 hours later at 6pm as they were closing & I was annoyed to say the least. On the drive home I could hear rattling at the back - first sign that things were not right but it was late & dark so I just parked it in my drive & went home.
In the morning I opened the door where the speaker was replaced & the door card was hanging off - on closer inspection, 4 of the clips were damaged. The bolt tab had been broken & the technician super glued it back on, getting glue on the door handle in the process. The panel was forced into place & held on with the bottom retainer which also got damaged.
I opened the hood to see if all was ok in the engine bay - the oil cap had been left off when they topped up the oil & oil had splattered all over the engine cover & underside of the hood. Luckily, the oil cap had not fallen off & I found it in the area under the wipers.
Long story short, I've had to order the door clips & retainer to refit the door panel myself & cleaned the engine bay. My door panel is still on the back seat while I wait for the parts.
My advise to anyone getting their car serviced or repaired is to stay well clear of this crowd - they really are some of the worst I've ever come across. No respect for the customer or the vehicles they're entrusted to repair.
A word of advice to anyone who doesn't heed my warning & decides to still get their car serviced here ... if it's winter & you're going to be waiting for your car, wrap up warm - this place is freezing cold & even the staff all go around in wooly hats, scarfs & coats.

Very disappointing experience with Al Hayes Portumna unfortunately. Bought a 2 yo VW, my wife went to collect a few days later but when i got home from work and had a good poke around i realised that the car wasn't prepped at all. There was zero servicing done to car prior to sale as agreed, I had to do oil, air, cabin, and fuel myself, I don't mind as I enjoy that type of stuff, but the principle of the matter. The cabin filter was disgusting dirty, and the engine oil was gritty and burnt. Also tyres were only at 50%, which i thought was mean spirited on a car sold for 35,000euro. I then asked for the service history of the car, but Al Hayes refused to provide! They sold it from new, and had been "servicing" it themselves until we bought at 2 years old, but refused to show me these records!

One month into ownership the AdBlue system had an error. The garage booked it in for a fix. My wife had to take a day off work and had to bring the kids, one of whom is autistic,  and hand around for hours while Al Hayes tried a cheap fix, that didn't work. My wife had to repeat the process again 2 weeks later. Just fix the damn thing right the first time and show some respect to customers.

Simply incredible to experience this from a main VW franchise. Al Hayes couldn't have cared less, they sold a car with zero service done on it and lied throughout the process. I wasn't convinced about them prior to purchase as i found the staff to be a little sneary towards us, but my wife trusted them, however admitted since that she got them all wrong. You are probably wondering why with all the issues not right with car,  that I didn't kick up a major fuss. I used to have that sort of fight in me when I was younger, but nowadays I try not waste too much emotion on gangsters like Al Hayes, it would probably have been a complete waste of time, judging by their attitude. Lesson learned,  never again
