Been going to Great Island Motors for years, bought my first car here and it was very reliable even 5 years later. Great value for fuel also, I find it doesn’t burn as fast as other garages in Cobh. Great staff always there to help with any issues I’ve had. Also purchased my brothers first car here recently and it was tax, tested and a full valet and service before collection, it was a quick sale and very convenient and a great deal!

Yesterday, I thought I'd get my petrol at GIM as I was passing, was driving to Dublin, and the pricing said 169.9 per litre, see photo.  I filled up, got a receipt, and realised I'd been charged 177.9 per litre. see photo, 8 cent more than advertised.  This is illegal. Yes, I should have read the screen before I started filling up, but I thought I knew the price, why would I need to check on the pump screen.  If I'd know it was 177.9 per litre, I wouldn't have stopped.  Cheats, criminals.
Why is zero stars not an option?  I don't want to reward this type of behaviour by even giving them ONE star.

My experience with this car dealership has been the worst I have ever encountered. I purchased a vehicle from them at the end of December 2022. While I was pleased with the car's condition, they assured me of a three-month warranty, which they claim applies to all customers.

However, after just two months, I faced an issue where one of the doors was not locking or unlocking with the key remote. I visited their dealership to report the problem, and without much inspection, they informed me that the lock would need to be replaced, which would take several weeks for delivery after placing the order. They assured me that they would order the part and call me once it arrived, noting the details in their records to demonstrate their commitment to resolving the issue.

Weeks passed without any communication from them. When I followed up with Ray, one of the representatives at Great Island Motors who had recorded my concerns, he repeatedly stated that it would take another week or two. This cycle of vague responses continued until I decided to seek help from a local garage. To my surprise, they resolved the issue in just thirty minutes, identifying it as a minor wiring problem.

I feel compelled to share this experience with anyone considering a purchase from Great Island Motors. While my issue was relatively minor, it highlights a broader concern: the dealership may provide assurances and warranties at the time of sale, but they ultimately fail to uphold their commitments to customers.
