A software update bricked my ID3. Not ideal. I contacted Sheehy Motors and in fairness they sorted it out pretty quickly. I had to call the breakdown number to get the car towed and then I was able to get a replacement rental car-only snag here is I had to go myself to collect, which meant asking for a lift as I had no car…obviously. They had the issue sorted within two days and were nice enough to give the car a good clean inside and out . They also let me drop off the rental at their premises which saved me a trip. Again with the rental, there was a default excess of just over €1,000, removal of which cost €10 per day. I think this is pretty outrageous but anyway I paid the €10 extra and a €50 deposit for the car. When I checked my bank after returning the rental I found they had refunded me €66, which considering I had the car for three days and hadn’t remembered to top up the fuel was pretty ok. So all in all a good experience. I would definitely have no problem recommending sheehy motors ton buy a car but if it’s electric you are after do yourself a favour and pick one of the used models in the forecourt, you’ll save a heap of money and the car will probably last for years
