Suhr, Standard Custom, 2013.

Suhr, Standard Custom, from 2013., mint condition, but there is nothing standard in her. Two-piece alder body, roasted maple neck, tusq nut, Gotoh bridge, Suhr locking tuners, Suhr Dough Aldrich humbucker pickups, 5-way switch, blower switch, no fretboard. Yep, I didn't make a typo, so there is no fretboard! The neck is created from one piece of roasted maple. The colour is Trans Blue Denim/Slate, but there is nothing blue on her. It is a weird colour. The maple is so quilted that I can't describe it, and it looks different in real life- much, much better. She is not shaped like a normal/regular guitar, all lines are bent, belly curve, hand rest, and access to low frets. She is different from any other guitar I've played. The neck is even C medium, not Ibanez thin, not Stratocaster chunky, and easy to play. The blower switch is wired when on to return setup to neck humbucker "full on", handy for quick jump into distortion rhythm/solo from any position and any volume/tone adjustment that's currently in place. Any type of music is possible to play, but she "likes" bluesy, jazzy mid to higher gain tones, in my experience anyway. I played Knopfler to Petrucci stuff with no problem, but as I said, for me the best from her is somewhere between Gilmour (The Final Cut) and Frusciante (By the Way).
