Calculating what Btu output heater you need to heat your area is quite simple. Measure the 3 dimensions of the area you need to heat in feet, the length, width and ceiling height at the highest point. Then multiply the length x width x height and you have the cubic measurement of the area. Simply multiply this figure by 5 for a well-insulated building and 10 for no insulation, 15 for no insulation and not well sealed and draughty. This is a good rule of thumb calculation method.
