SCS - PTC IIe Modem / TNC Just the job after the latest storm Eowyn, where in my case all services were lost including internet. This modem and a transceiver and a battery or generator was the way to keep in touch by HF email. This is a Pactor 1 / 2 / 3 Modem and is used in conjunction with an HF transmitter (not supplied) to provide wireless Pactor transmission and reception, which is usually used for Ships / Boats or Ham Radio operators to send and receive emails, even in conditions where satellite communication is impossible. The unit is fully functional and the built-in Pactor 3 licence extension can be used for any Ham Radio Callsign. i.e. it is NOT tied down to a specific callsign. The unit is supplied with a Windows 7/8/10/11 compatible USB adapter lead and a high quality 12v power lead with fitted Anderson Powerpole connectors. This is a rare unit and its reliability and usefulness is legendary. The device represents around 50% of the cost of the cheapest currently manufactured devices. The price includes delivery with Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland. This unit will work with the likes of SailMail and Winlink Express Email software.
