8yr old gelding

Wildewood 8yr old 16.2h gelding by Garswood. Retired sound from racing in 2020, he got some time off to relax and put on weight before his owner brought him back into work slowly and focused mainly on flatwork with him. He has taken part in virtual dressage classes and got placings with his owner. Due to owners injury (unrelated to woody) woody had some time in the field before coming to me at the end of september, he was very easy to bring back into work no badness or trouble with him. Since being with me he has competed at a couple of training shows jumping 80/90cm with loads of scope for more and been to one sponsored ride jumping everything he was faced with. Woody rides nicely on the flat and with a bit more work would do a very nice dressage test. He has a very good trot and a great canter however canter is his weak gait and needs a bit more work on collection and balance. Easy to clip, shoe, load, travel and handle around the yard. Can be handled and groomed by a 10yr old child. Snaffle mouth at all times. Hacks out alone and in company and is good with any traffic we've met so far. Woody would excel in any discipline with enough movement for showing and dressage, scope for showjumping and canter for eventing he really could do any job. He is straight and correct and RoR eligible. With a bit of schooling he could also be a fun team chase horse. While there is no badness in him he can get a bit excited and jig joggy in the warm up arena but once he has settled and done some work he is happy to stand quietly in the queue and wait for his turn.
