IRISH BLOOD CUSTOM HARLEY-DAVIDSON SOFTAIL

Ok.. this one isn't gonna be for everyone! But we LOVE it! We took a brand new Softail and gave it our "Irish Blood Custom Motorcycles" treatment. Our team have turned it into a 1949 barn-find Harley-Davidson hill climber!! Old style "FL" low handlebars replace the original tall mini-apes. The whole front end of this softail has been changed out for a chunky Harley-Davidson headstock and wide black-painted forks. The narrow 19" front wheel & tyre have been ditched for a fat 16" laced wheel & tyre, with a custom front fender - but we're running it without the fender for looks.. but there is one! Tyres are on-road "off road" look, so it has that chunky hill-climber look but on-road manners & ride. We then replaced the standard semi-narrow tank with a brand new Harley-Davidson Fatboy tank. The standard seat is gone, with a beautiful period-correct black leather "tractor" style 1940's sprung seat in its place. The rear fender has been replaced with a chopped Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail fender to mimic the "chopped" style fenders of old. The standard lights looked way too modern, so we replaced all. We now have miniscule LED indicators and brakelights - hard to spot but they are brighter than stock lighting, along with a small custom size H-D LED headlamp. Teh exhaust, we thought needed to look stock, so we replaced the end cans with Harley-Davidson Screamin'Eagle pipes - not too quiet but not too loud. And then of course, there the work-in-progress that is the paintwork... This Harley was originally black. we over- painted it with a period-correct 1940's H-D spec off-white. We then painted it a period-correct 1940's H-D spec maroon. We then distressed the heck out of it - and we will continue to do so to make it look old and weathered. We might even paint it another period correct colour for the heck of it.... and then distress it again! All this at a low price for such a one-off custom Harley-Davidson. You also get the power and soul-satisfying sound of the modern Milwaukee-Eight® 107 V-Twin in the new Harley- Davidson lighter frame with modern braking.
