Pigs

2 Managlitza types. I boar. 1 female. Unfortunately related ..was gonna get pure straws from Deerpark for her..(€90)..and breed her pure. Boar proven..Was crossed with an OSB sow..some of the beat meat you've ever tasted...apart from pure Managlitza..if you've been that lucky. Heartbreaking to move on as they are lovely and affectionate, but I simply haven't the space required...or they would stay with me. Also my circumstances have somewhat changed.. These are big strong pigs..as you can see by the pictures against standard stock fence..and diggers..but a pure joy to have around. Will tolerate most conditions..but very wet, and will sit out in the snow and frost in winter as they have a thick insulating coat. The down when they moult is a deterrent in the polytunnel for mice etc..and soo soft. I can eat them myself..but would prefer them to go for breeding as the gene pool is very small...and that should be respected..before the breed is lost like so many others. Everyone wants a quick fix eh. If you dont know them...Google is your friend. They are a slow growing pig..but their fat is worth as much as their meat and wonderful to cook with. Generally culled at 18 months old. They make the best Charcuterie. Pm for more details..if your not interested..dont ask.
