Under Health and Safety ( HSA& HSE ) guidelines, employers must ensure that all lifting equipment – such as forklifts, telehandlers and reach trucks –Excavators, Loader’s – Lorry Mounted Cranes - Chain & Hook Loaders, MEWPS etc., can be used safely and without risk of injury. To comply. that means having both the lifting and driving mechanisms inspected at least every 6 months or 12 months as part of a Thorough Examination in line with LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998) and PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998).
