34 string Harp made 1975 handmade by Jan Muyllaert

Vintage handmade Irish harp dating back to 1975, made by master harp maker Jan Muyllaert. The harp is marked as No. 1 This Beautiful instrument was lovingly restored 2 years ago and has been played by my son up until recently. It has the old style brass blades to change the tuning of the strings and is current tuned to C for Traditional Irish playing but can be retuned. The Harp has a lovely warm & rich tone you would expect from a vintage instrument. Jan is still building harps in Ireland to this day. The back and sides have a beautiful flame running through the maple. The strings are Italian and are a high quality nygut string. I have lots of spares to go with it as well as the string chart. The metal brace was put onto the Harp long before it came to me and I have had it all checked out by a professional Harp maker who has said it was done well and doesn't need any work and are quite common on older harps to help with the high tension. There are also a few cracks in the sound board which have been fixed with Linen which is an old fashioned traditional way of repairs.
