Description
Price negotiable. Full size violin by the premier Irish violin maker Thomas Perry (1738 - 1818), recently restored to excellent playing condition by luthier Peter Boardman (Donaghadee). The 'modernising' neck graft had been beautifully executed by Robert Irvine (Belfast) in 1905, per label inside. This is a very good example, well preserved apart from slight blemishes which can be seen in the photographs. It plays with the typically warm, sweet tone for which Perry instruments are prized. It is stamped on the reverse: No 3672 PERRY DUBLIN The original label is readable inside: THOMAS PERRY & WM. WILKINSON, Anglesea Street, Dublin 1810 Learn more about the history of Thomas Perry by Googling Wikipedia and /or McNeela Music
