violin by Thomas Perry (Dublin) 1810

Price negotiable. Full size violin by the premier Irish violin maker Thomas Perry (1738 - 1818), recently restored to excellent playing condition by luthier Peter Boardman (Donaghadee). The 'modernising' neck graft had been beautifully executed by Robert Irvine (Belfast) in 1905, per label inside. This is a very good example, well preserved apart from slight blemishes which can be seen in the photographs. It plays with the typically warm, sweet tone for which Perry instruments are prized.
