This is possible thanks to the development of a newer brushless DC motor that has more dense windings and more metal to get the same power you would expect but out of a smaller package. The DCF891N is the version supplied without batteries or a charger to keep costs lower for those who already own 18V XR compatible batteries. This machine would work equally well with either the 5.0Ah packs or the new 1.7Ah PowerStack Compact batteries, either of which would give enough kick for the 1084 Nm of nut busting (breakaway) torque. The anvil is the common 1/2" square drive, equipped with a hog ring for socket retention. Features: Supplied as a bare tool without battery/charger.
