Description
As 2024 comes to a close we take a look back at prices achieved at our auctions during the year. Almost 10,000 lots went under the hammer in 2024 including a number of special dispersal sales on behalf of farmers across Ireland. In this post we will take a look at some diggers & plant sold during the year. In other ads over coming days we will look at tractors, farm machinery and trailers. We sold over 200 tractors in 2024. Trade was steady for tractors throughout the year especially for direct off farm tractors around the 5000 hour mark and for the older classics but modern tractors heading for 10,000 hours were a tough seller at times. One of the highlights of the year came in April when we sold a clean 2016 Fendt 828 with almost 6000 hours on the clock selling for €90,000 plus vat. The original type classics and vintage tractors are still attracting lots of local and foreign interest with some notable prices achieved: - 1987 Case 1455XL 4WD sold @ €22000 - 1991 Ford 7810 4WD sold @ €22000 - 1979 Ford 7600 2WD sold @ €21500 - 1972 Ford 7000 2WD sold @ €19700 - 1990 MF 365 2WD sold @ €18000 - 1979 Ford 5000 2WD sold @ €16500 - 1984 Deutz DX120 sold @ €14600 - 1976 MF 165 2WD sold @ €13500 Throughput of diggers at our auctions in 2024 was strong again with over 100 diggers going under the hammer. Trade for bigger diggers 13T+ was slow at times but anything that was clean with reasonable hours were still commanding good prices. Highlights of the year included a 2014 Caterpillar 8T digger selling for €25,300 plus vat destined for US market plus other notable sales were a 2021 Hidromek 14T selling for €61,000 plus vat and a 2017 Kubota 2.7T selling for €25,000 plus vat. The outlook for 2025 is positive for clean second hand equipment. New machinery prices are still high so contractors and farmers will remain in the market for well minded second hand equipment. Important to note that all leading finance companies will finance machinery purchased at our auctions subject to their usual terms and conditions. Finally we would like to wish all our customers plus their families a very happy new year 🚜🐄🎉 We’ll see you all again at our next collective auction on Saturday 18th January.
