1955 Hillman Minx

LI 7752 is an Irish assembled 1955 Hillman Minx Phase VIII. Assembled by Buckley motors of Shanowen Rd in Santry in the summer of 55, this Minx was sold by Flanagans of Athlone in early August of that year, remaining in the area for a following 55 years before residing in the Dublin locality from there on. This particular car is fitted with the 1390 OHV engine along with a 4 speed column change gearbox which has recently benefited from a new clutch & pressure plate along with several gaskets. In our ownership the Minx has given very little trouble, bringing us to many events over the years, most recently at the show in Swords. 4 new tyres along with a new battery have also recently been fitted. The front bench seat has been recently recovered. The body of the car is very solid, all structural areas are in good condition underneath, very little to be done in regards to exterior. Still has its original triplex shamrock glass. Overall it is a very usable & quirky vehicle for someone who is looking to get into classic motoring with something slightly more unusual today.
