1974 Porsche 911 - One of a kind

This 1974 Porsche 911 Targa completed a total restoration in 2020. That process included a rotisserie body restoration, a full rebuild of the engine, gearbox, suspension and braking system and upgrades to the driver experience that make this a very usable “one of a kind” classic 911. In 2017 Carrera Classics took delivery of the car, and after a full stripdown, mounted it on a rotisserie. An inspection showed the car was almost entirely rust free, apart from the kidney bowls which were cut out and replaced. RSR style arches were fabricated and fitted and a long nose bonnet and wings were also added after all the correct metal work was completed. Finally the body was painted in Porsche Amaranth Violet and wet sanded and polished to show winning standard. Underneath the skin, you’ll find a fully rebuilt later 3.2 litre engine with 964 cams, Motec ECU, Rasant intake and throttle body injection system. The 915 gearbox was also fully rebuilt with Wevo internals and matched with a lightweight clutch and flywheel. Before handover to the current owner, the car was sent to one of the UK’s leading 911 specialists and was Dyno mapped. Ease of use for touring and daily driving was the focus, and a modest power increase from 225 bhp to 253 bhp was settled on. The “playful” plaid interior is really striking and a great place to be for any journey. The bucket seats are heated, the Momo steering wheel fits your hands perfectly and is complimented by EZ electric power steering. A Porsche Classic stereo and upgraded speakers complete the driver experience. The history folder includes all invoices for the 2017-2020 restoration.
