Generally you want your surfboard leash to be about the same length as your board....or sometimes maybe slightly longer depending on conditions and your skill level. As a guide, use 6 feet length for shortboards, 7 ft for funboards and larger shortboards, 8 ft for Mini-mals and 9 ft for longboards.
